some background info:

Vlad the impaler's father was also named vlad.

actually, dracula's real name is VLAD THE 3RD BASARAB, "THE IMPALER" "DRACULA"

His father was named Vlad 2nd "dracul" , which means "devil" in romanian, (his order of dragon symbol was mistaken for the devil and thus it went from dragon to devil) and dracula is a NON-EXISTANT WORD which alludes to "son of the devil"
"tepes" also is a made-up word alluding to "stake"(thus making the "impaler" bit)

vlad 2nd made a deal with the sultan to send his sons to him as a symbol of peace.
They were to be "re-educated" and raised in the turkish way.
The 1st son was far too old to be re-educated, so he sent his 2 younger sons: Vlad and Radu.
Dracula was the middle child, being 11(IRL) and Radu was about 5.

Vlad couldn't be "re-educated"(he was old enough to know better), but Radu was raised as a turk..

i really didn't mean to get to that, but hirano drew him without a face so i had to blacken it every time..
