EDIT: there, bg as finished as i think i can get it.
a few edits to the mane and wings.

note: i haven't finished the BG and i'll do some tweaking to the overall pic, but i'm posting it for now since i'll be gone for a few days and wanted to have it in my gallery

(i used the heroes 3 manticore as a model actually hah :P)

a manticore family in the den, dad taking care of the youngster (whose wings are too small to help him fly) while mom is out hunting :D

so i wanted to draw smth cute and interesting at the same time, so i thought i'd do some manticores again ,since they're among my fave mythological creatures..

actually i initially wanted to do a quick animal pic, then it went to lion, then i thought "naaah i want smth supernatural" "a griffin? no, it's pretty but not cuddly and all those feathers will kill me" "manticore with a lions head? it's supernatural and cute"

so that's how it got to this.

ironically, drawing the fur took more than some feathers would..i did over 100 hairs on these 2 beasts.. oh geez

so i spent about the whole week on this drawing,am really tired and i wanted to post it before i gather up the courage to work on it again..

any advice on the bg?

heh mie nu prea-mi plac astea 3d..shrek si wal-e mai mi-au placut asa..in rest, alea vechi vechi disney.
